JENNIFER TUCKER / PRESIDENT

Jennifer is a former professional dancer with numerous New York, East Coast regional, and touring credits under her belt. In her young adult years, she was blessed to study dance under the mentorship of such greats as Anne Reinking, Gregory Hines, and Milton Meyers.

Ultimately, many life changes led her to return to school and she earned her undergraduate degree at University of Maryland, her nursing degree at the Phillips School of Nursing at Mount Sinai Beth Israel, and later her Master’s in Nursing at New York Universtiy. Her path eventually brought her to Hawaii where she continues to work as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner at The Queen’s Medical Center. In 2021, she completed a certificate program in Medicinal Plants through Cornell Universtiy.

Since relocating to Hawaii, Jennifer has studied hula under her Kumu, Auli’i Aweau, as a member of Na Wahine O Laakea Hula in Kaneohe. In 2019 she had the life-changing privilege of standing with the Kia’i (protectors) on Mauna Kea, and she is involved with local activism whenever possible.

The mission of Dancers Unlimited is a marriage of Jennifer’s passions: Performing Arts, Social Justice, Diversity/Inclusion/Equity, Sustainability, Aloha Āina, and holding reverence for cultural practices and heritage. She is beyond thrilled to support the vision of the creative director and the artists of DU.
