All The Way Live Nepal (Kathmandu, Nepal)
DU joins Bay Area-based organization, All The Way Live, in Nepal for a week of dance education, community outreach, and events! Focus of the week will be on Hip Hop culture and street style dances, however, other art forms are welcome and encouraged to join us.
Accommodation: Hotel Shanker (4 starts Family Friendly)
Nearby: 3 miles from Pashupatinath Temple, 0.6 miles from Garden of Dreams, 0.7 miles from Narayanhiti Palace Museum, 0.8 miles away from King’s Palace, walking distance to Thamel and Durbar Marg (tourist hubs)
Cost: Air Fare + $93-$113 per room (max 3 people/room) or $164 for suite (max 4 people/room) + Program Fee ($80 or $50 for students and artists)

Daily activities include teaching dance / art at local schools in the mornings, rehearsing with local dance communities in the evenings, and helping present a final performance at the end of the week.
Notes: at the request of All The Way Live, volunteers should bring along school supplies to donate to local children. Pencils, pens, notebooks, backpacks.. It’s amazing when we realize how simple things can make a huge difference in a child’s life.

Treetop Country (Chiang Rai, Northern Thailand)
Treetop Country offers Thailand’s most authentic and affordable volunteer and backpackers experience. Volunteers stay in semi-private or private tree houses, and will have several Thai families, as well as other international volunteers, living with them and welcoming them into the local Thai community. This is an ideal opportunity to immerse in a vibrant culture while making an impact in the lives of the local community. Volunteers will gain a wealth of experience and constant access to authentic culture and people of Northern Thailand. Meals and accommodation are included in the program fee, and prepared by legendary Thai chef Sasi Meechai, the founder of Treetop Country.
Accommodation: Treetop Country. Beautiful tree houses constructed from wood and bamboo. Wake up every morning to the soft sounds of the outdoors and stunning view of the village.
Cost: $220 Treetop Country Fee, $100 Registration Fee, Program Fee ($80 or $50 for students and artists) , Air Fare & spending money (about $30 for a week for basic needs)
*Treetop Country Fee covers accommodation, 2 meals a day, airport pickup + drop off, orientation, 1 cooking class, a weekend adventure trip, and in-village 24/7 support and staff.
Daily activities include teaching English to village children, leading art and dance lessons (or other activities with Treetop Country permission), and sustainable farming projects! Adventure and explorations around the village can also be arranged with in-village staff.
