DU was started in the end of 2009 by 2 childhood friends to provide an affordable (or free) enrichment program on Furlough Fridays in Hawaii.  The outreach organization has a vision to bring Hawaii dancers together to create a stronger community.  Soon more dancers with similar visions joined together to create a company that focuses on giving back to the community.

Our first event was a Holidays Clothing Drive Dance Workshops with celebrity choreographers from New York and Los Angeles.  Students brought in clothes for donation for Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Honolulu in exchange for free and/or discounted classes.  Our events have since grown into National Dance Week Hawaii and other collaborative outreach projects in the US and abroad.

In addition to giving back to our community using dance as a platform, Dancers Unlimited has been blessed to work with a team of professional and elite dancers in Hawaii, as well as guest dancers from the mainland.  Our first performance was a celebration for African American Heritage Month at Ala Moana Shopping Center.  From there we embarked on a journey of performing for museums, corporate events, fundraisers, movies, and international venues such as Shanghai World Expo and Urbanite Beijing (Dance2XS).

Dancers Unlimited is now a network of dancers and artists from all over the world.  We continue to call Hawaii home, and we strive to DREAM, LEARN, SHARE, INSPIRE, AND UNITE dancers for causes close to heart and far beyond.
